Terms of Service

Last updated: October 4, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and us for the Vanel desktop app, your Vanel account and this website. By creating an account, buying a plan, or downloading or using the app, you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data, and our Refund Policy explains how refunds work.

1. Who we are

Vanel makes and offers the Vanel desktop app and this website, and is the data controller named in our Privacy Policy. In these terms, “Vanel”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Vanel, and “you” means the person using Vanel.

You can reach us at support@getvanel.com. For questions about your personal data, write to privacy@getvanel.com.

2. What Vanel is

Vanel is a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. It gives you a team of AI helpers that you lead by talking to one Leader in everyday language. Using the AI account you connect, the team plans, builds and tests the work on your own computer.

This website is where you create your account, choose and pay for a plan, get your license key and download the app. The app also contacts this website to check for updates and to check your license key, and to send the usage statistics and problem reports described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Your account

You need an account to download Vanel and to buy a plan. Give us your real name and an email address you can receive mail at, keep your password safe, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Vanel, or older if the law where you live requires it.

4. Your AI provider

Vanel does not provide, sell or resell AI, and your AI use does not pass through our servers. To use Vanel, you connect your own account with a supported provider, such as Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT or Codex (OpenAI), or OpenCode. You sign in on the provider’s own page; we never see your provider password.

Your use of the provider is governed by the provider’s own terms and policies, and the provider bills you directly for your plan or usage. We are not responsible for the provider’s charges, limits or availability, or for changes it makes to its service.

During setup, Vanel can install your provider’s official command-line tool, such as Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode, using the provider’s own installer. These tools come from their makers, under their own terms.

5. Your team works on your computer

Vanel’s helpers work on your machine: they can create and change files in your project folders, run programs, install software packages and use a built-in browser. That is what lets them do real work for you.

Vanel is designed to stop before critical actions, such as paying for something, sending emails, messages or posts, publishing, or doing something that cannot be undone, and to hand that step to you (“Your turn”). You decide whether to go ahead. You are responsible for what you ask your team to do and for the actions you approve.

AI can be wrong. Results can contain mistakes, and a check that passes does not guarantee that something works the way you intend. Review important results before you rely on them, publish them or run them, and keep your own backups of anything valuable. Saved versions help you go back, but they do not replace your own backups.

6. Other services you connect

You can let your team use other services, for example your email, your file storage, GitHub, or a hosting service to publish your app. Your team uses them from your computer with your own accounts, and those services’ own terms apply; you are responsible for following them. The data your team exchanges with those services does not reach us.

7. Plans and prices

Vanel has three plans: Free, Pro and Lifetime. What each plan includes is shown on our pricing page.

Pro is a subscription that costs US$15 a month or US$120 a year. Lifetime is a single payment of US$199 and is limited to the first 300 buyers. Prices are in US dollars, and tax may be added depending on where you live. You pay the price shown at checkout.

8. Buying through Polar

Payments are handled by Polar Software, Inc. (USA), which acts as the merchant of record. This means you buy Vanel from Polar: Polar charges your payment method through its payment processor, Stripe, calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipts and invoices.

The purchase itself is governed by Polar’s Buyer Terms. Your right to use Vanel comes from us, under these terms; Polar’s Buyer Terms call them the “Supplier Agreement”.

You can see your invoices and change your payment method or billing details in Polar’s billing portal, which you open from your account page.

9. Pro renewals and cancelling

Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. Polar charges each renewal to your saved payment method.

You can cancel at any time on your account page. Cancelling stops future payments. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for; after that your account moves to Free, and your projects stay on your computer.

If a renewal payment fails, Polar may try again. If the payment still cannot be collected, your subscription may end.

If we change the price of Pro, we will tell you in advance. The new price applies from your first renewal after our notice, and you can cancel before then.

10. Lifetime

Lifetime is a single payment for everything in Pro as it is on the day you buy, together with updates to those features. It can be used on up to 3 computers.

Lifetime does not include future features that cost us money to run in the cloud. We may offer those separately.

Lifetime is limited to the first 300 buyers. Once they are sold, Lifetime is no longer offered.

11. Refunds

If Vanel is not right for you, you can get your first payment back within 14 days. The details, including how renewals are handled, are in our Refund Policy. Refunds are paid by Polar.

12. Your license

Vanel stays ours. We give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the Vanel app under these terms. You cannot transfer this right to anyone else.

When you buy Pro or Lifetime, a license key appears on your account page. You paste it into the app to unlock your plan. Each key can be active on up to 3 computers at a time, and you can free up a computer from your account page. The app checks your key with this website from time to time.

Your key is for your own use, personally or within your own business. Do not share, sell or publish it, and do not try to get around license checks or the computer limit. Except where the law allows it, do not copy, sell or rent out the app itself.

13. Acceptable use

Do not use Vanel to break the law, to harm, deceive or harass others, to send spam, to access systems or accounts you are not allowed to access, or to break the terms of the services your team uses on your behalf.

14. Your content

What you and your team create is yours. Your projects, your team’s memory and your vault stay on your computer. We claim no rights in your content, and it does not reach us unless you choose to include part of it in a problem report.

You are responsible for your content and for what you publish, including having the right to use any material you give your team.

15. Updates and changes

The app checks this website for updates and can download and install them, so that you get fixes and improvements.

Vanel will change over time, and we may add, change or remove features. If we remove a major feature of a paid plan, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

16. Warranty and liability

We work hard to make Vanel useful and reliable, but we provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that results produced by AI will be accurate or suitable for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the amount you paid for Vanel in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

17. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Vanel at any time, and delete your account yourself on your account page. Deleting it ends any Pro subscription straight away, without refunding the rest of the period you paid for, and revokes your license keys; a Lifetime license is lost for good. If you are within the 14-day guarantee, ask for your refund before you delete. If you cannot log in, write to support@getvanel.com from your account’s email address.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. If we close your account without such a reason, we will refund the unused part of any Pro period you have paid for.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Vanel or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new terms, you can stop using Vanel and cancel Pro before they apply.

19. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of İstanbul have jurisdiction over disputes about them, to the extent the law allows such a choice.

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can also take a claim to the courts or consumer dispute bodies there where those laws allow it (in Türkiye, the consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts).

Questions about the payment itself, such as charges, taxes and invoices, are handled by Polar under Polar’s Buyer Terms.

If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@getvanel.com. Most problems can be solved quickly that way.
